Here are the top three stories today in Dacula:
- Legislative privilege excuses lawmakers from testifying in court, according to a new set of rules laid down by Georgia officials on Wednesday. The state House and Senate were both aligned in shielding politicians from having to appear in a court. Most Republicans were in favor of the rules, while most Democrats voted against the rule change. (Law.com)
- Do you want to help keep Georgia's water clean? You can volunteer to be a part of Georgia's Adopt-A-Stream program. Citizens are allowed to collect baseline water quality data from local streams. This information helps to monitor the quality of the streams in the community. The workshop will take place on Jan. 17 at the Collins Hill Branch in nearby Lawrenceville. (Gwinnett County Public Library)
- If you're looking for some advice from a Certified Medicare Counselor, Gwinnett County Public Library can help. The library offers a course with an expert counselor who will provide you with the information you need about costs and coverage to make smart decisions. Registration is not required, but it is recommended. (Gwinnett County Public Library)
