Local Students Washington, D.C.-Bound This Summer

Chris Larkins of Dacula High School and Kristen Gomez of Mill Creek High School are among the four Gwinnett high school students who will be in Washington, D.C. this summer as delegates for the 2015 Washington Youth Tour (WYT).

The others are Emily Bauer of Brookwood High School and Kirtan Parekh of North Gwinnett High School They will be in the nation’s capital June 11-18, to learn about leadership, teamwork, democracy, and public service. The WYT is sponsored by 38 electric membership cooperatives (EMCs) in Georgia, including Jackson EMC.
It is celebrating its 50th year and is the longest-running leadership program for teens.
