Mega Millions Jackpot For Tuesday Hits $449 Million
There was no grand-prize winner in Friday's Mega Millions, which is played as part of the Georgia Lottery.

Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot has skyrocketed to $449 million -- the seventh-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
The prize hit that lofty number after no grand-prize winner was selected in Friday's $415 million drawing.
The numbers from Friday's Mega Millions drawing were: 20, 41, 42, 45, 49 and 14.

Four players matched five out of six numbers on Friday, winning a $1 million prize and two of those had paid for a "megaplier," doubling their winnings to $2 million.
Those winners were in Massachusetts, New York, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.

If someone wins Tuesday night's drawing it would be the nation's seventh largest payout, according to a compilation of mega-winners by CNN.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. Eastern Time. You can buy tickets until 10:45 p.m. Eastern Time.

A ticket to play the Mega Millions lottery costs $1. Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers -- five different numbers from 1 to 75 and one number from 1 to 15 -- or select Easy Pick. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing.
Mega Millions is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
