When visiting the Chattahoochee River, be sure to check the water generation schedule at Buford Dam. The generation at Buford Dam causes turbulent conditions that could place river-goers in jeopardy. Stay off the river until the swift current and elevated water level recedes. The water may quickly change from a tranquil stream, to raging river conditions. The use of life jackets is required for points along the river from Buford Dam to the Highway 20 Bridge. Whether boating, fishing, or splashing in the water, stay alert to changing conditions and be aware of potential hazards. Life Jackets are no sidekick-Wear it!
