Menchie’s ‘Soft’ Opening Set for Saturday

Another frozen yogurt shop will soon open its doors in Dacula.

will begin serving customers this weekend.

Menchie’s marketing director Linda Seigel said Saturday’s soft opening will be a way to ease into the festivities scheduled for the grand opening celebration.

“It gives us a chance to work through the bumps that inevitably occur and allows the staff to get accustomed to the process, since for many this is their first position,” Seigel wrote in response to an emailed inquiry. 

The grand opening festivities begin in earnest on Friday, Aug. 12 with a free “Fro Yo Bash” from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Seigel said it will be a great night for a celebration given it is the first weekend of the new school year.

“We want to serve as many guests as possible in a fun and active environment. We go all out, we use our regular size cups, all our flavors and toppings,” Seigel explained.

Menchie’s will offer giveaways and contests throughout the evening.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, Menchie’s will host a “Stick it 2 Cancer” night. Stick it 2 Cancer, the local chapter of the leukemia/lymphoma society, will receive 20 percent of Menchie’s sales Saturday evening. The event includes eating contests, taste tests and balloon pops.
