Gwinnett investigators believe a motorcyclist who had wrecked his bike and was lying injured on a Buford-area roadway was run over and killed by an unknown driver and vehicle early Sunday morning.
Gwinnett Police said Scott Moseley, 24, died before 1 a.m. Sunday morning on Gravel Springs Road (Ga. Hwy 324) at Camp Branch Road near Buford, where witness accounts and evidence indicated a second vehicle struck and killed him, then drove away.
This is an area in unincorporated Gwinnett County located east of the Mall of Georgia and just north of Interstate 85.

Gwinnett Police public information officer Cpl. Michele Pihera said investigators believe Moseley’s death was the result of two separate accidents.
Police received a 911 call around 12:45 a.m. about a man who had been ejected off his motorcycle and was lying in the roadway with visible injuries.
“While the citizen was talking with the 911 dispatcher, a loud noise was heard and the line went silent,” Pihera said in a news release. “Soon after contact was lost with the first caller, another person called in to report the accident.”
Officers and medics found Moseley dead at the scene, Pihera said.
Accident Investigation Unit investigators believe Moseley was making a left turn from southbound Camp Branch Road onto Gravel Springs Road when he “likely” struck the raised median, was ejected off his motorcycle and came to rest in the left lane on Gravel Springs.
Afterward, an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound on Gravel Springs toward Camp Branch hit Moseley in the roadway, police said.
“The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to render aid or contact police,” Pihera said. “Moseley likely died as a result of being struck by the vehicle.”
Pihera said little is known about the suspected vehicle, which witnesses believe was a sedan. The vehicle likely has damage to the front bumper, Pihera said.
Police are looking for the public’s help in identifying the driver and the vehicle.
