Officer: Shots Fired At Police Car
An officer was pulled over on Highway 316 making a phone call when he heard what he thinks were three gunshots.

DACULA, GA — A Gwinnett County Police officer was pulled over making a phone call when what he thinks were three gunshots were fired at his patrol car.
At about 12:21 a.m. Monday, officer Joey Sanders had parked on the eastbound side of Georgia Highway 316 in Dacula to make a phone call to a victim who had reported a crime, according to a police report.
While having a conversation, Sanders wrote that a car pulled parallel with his.

"I hear three loud 'pops' that I recognized as gunshots," Sanders wrote. "The vehicle then continued westbound toward Lawrenceville."
Sanders drove to a police precinct to examine his vehicle and did not notice any damage. He then returned to the spot where he was parked and checked the area for bullet casings but did not find any.

Afterward, Sanders assisted a driver whose vehicle had broken down in the area. The driver, who had been parked on the westbound side of the road directly across from Sanders' patrol car, said he, too, heard what he thought were three gunshots.
The driver said he did not get a good view of the vehicle that had stopped but thought it was a small, possibly red, passenger car, the report says.
