Police: Thieves Drive Off With $200K in High-End Cars from Gwinnett Dealership

Stolen were a 2015 Audi A8, valued at $95,125, and an Audi RS7, valued at $128,075.

Police are investigating the theft of two high-end cars, valued at more than $200,000, earlier this week from a Gwinnett County dealership.

Gwinnett Police said two men captured on surveillance cameras brazenly stole the vehicles during the middle of the morning last Sunday from Audi Gwinnett, located at 3180 Satellite Boulevard near Gwinnett Place Mall.

Stolen were a 2015 Audi A8, valued at $95,125, and a 2015 Audi RS7, valued at $128,075. After stealing the key fobs earlier in the day, the men returned later, found the cars and drove them off the lot, police said.

Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said one of the men, a black male who was dressed in all black and wore sunglasses, first entered the dealership around 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 5.

“He entered through the service department, which was open for business,” Smith said in an email. “The suspect made his way to the showroom, which was not yet open to the public, and searched multiple desks belonging to sales personnel,” and stole the key fobs.

“The suspect then returned to the service department and purchased a battery for one of the stolen key fobs.”

The man then left the dealership in a silver passenger car with a sunroof, police said.

Around 11 a.m., he returned with another man, a black male wearing a gray sweatshirt with orange lining, gray sweatpants and a read-and-gray striped knit cap.

“The suspects walked onto Audi Gwinnett premises from the adjacent Kia dealership,” Smith said. “They walked through the parking lot and located the two vehicles matching the stolen key fobs,” and drove away.

Police released images of the suspect and the car the first man drove to the dealership.

Detectives need help from the public to identify the suspects. GCPD Motor Vehicle Theft Unit detectives can be reached at 770-513-5300.
