Police Uncover Marijuana Grow House Hidden Behind Fake Walls

Three people were arrested Sunday after Winder Police uncovered a hidden marijuana grow house while investigating suspicious activity in the area of Forrest Hill Road near Highway 53.
Police said in a news release that Mian Raven Rogers, 42, Jeanette Kolacki, 29, and Jonathan Vess, 25, face multiple charges, including intent to distribute and manufacturing marijuana.
Around 1 p.m. Sunday, two officers on patrol encountered two suspicious males on Forrest Hill Road who said they were looking for a friend’s house, but did not know the address.

While investigating, officers went to a house described by the males to ask if the residents knew them. When Rogers opened the door, she went outside and immediately closed the door.
“Officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the home and requested consent to search, but Ms. Rogers denied consent,” police said in the news release.

Officer secured a warrant and found several bags of suspected marijuana, items commonly used in growing and selling marijuana, a large amount of cash, IDs and credit cards belonging to other people, and a semi-automatic handgun.
Police then located a hidden room, which contained items used to grow marijuana.
“The room contained what appeared to be items used to grow marijuana plants,” the news release stated. “Police discovered a fake wall that had been constructed in this room. The wall was able to be pulled open, which led to the discovery of a second hidden room that contained suspected marijuana plants and various horticultural items used to grow them.”
The three arrested were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of fraudulent identification, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug related objects and manufacturing marijuana.
