Possible Drowning Reported in Hamilton Mill Subdivision

An 18-year-old male had reportedly been trying to see how long he could hold his breath under water.

UPDATE: As of 5:20 p.m., the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services public information officer did not have an update on the teen's condition. 

An 18-year-old male is being treated at a local hospital after being pulled from the Millview pool in the Hamilton Mill subdivision in Dacula, Ga.

Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services personnel arrived on scene at 12:37 p.m. At that point, the male was out of the pool.

"Witness told responders that the male was in the shallow end of the pool timing how long he could hold his breath under the water. He was found in the water and pulled out by the lifeguard," said GCFES public information officer Lt. Colin Rhoden in a media release.

The unidentified male was transported to an area hospital at 12:49 p.m. and, as of the time of the media release, was still being treated.
