Roaches In Kitchen, Raw Duck Heads: Gwinnett Restaurant Inspection (ICYMI)
The Gwinnett Chinese restaurant failed a health inspection Tuesday with a score of 41.

DULUTH, GA — Roaches in the kitchen and raw duck heads being stored above other food in the cooler were just a couple of the problems cited in a Duluth Chinese restaurant's failed health inspection on Tuesday.
Yummy Garden, at 2300 Pleasant Hill Rd., scored a super-low 41/F on the inspection. The restaurant had earned an 81/B on its last inspection in February.
The violations cited in Tuesday's inspection report included raw duck heads being stored above beef in the restaurant's cooler.

The report also noted "a live and several dead roaches" found in a wall-mounted soap dispenser in the kitchen. Employees were seen leaving the restaurant, then returning and starting to work with food without washing their hands.
Open drinks and employees' personal food was found mixed in with restaurant food in the kitchen. One handwashing sink didn't have soap and another had a chemical bucket stored in it. Chopped vegetables were in storage but not covered and several cold-stored items were found to be above the recommended temperature of 41 degrees.
The temperature in the cooler itself was found to be 48 degrees — again, higher than the 41 degrees recommended. Broken tubs were being used for storage, several sinks were leaking and an air filter had a heavy build-up of grease on it.
A follow-up inspection at the restaurant was scheduled for May 12. If significant improvements aren't made between now and then, inspectors could temporarily suspend the restaurant's license until changes are made.
