Sanitation Cases Fill City Court Docket

Ten people fail to respond to summons.

Dacula Municipal Court Bill Brogdon told those in attendance at the Aug. 16 session of Dacula Municipal Court that he had inherited a problem.

That problem -- delinquent sanitation accounts -- brought six people to court Tuesday night. Ten people failed to answer summons.

All six cases were resolved when the defendants agreed to court approved payment plans. Judge Brogdon suspended the $500 fine for each defendant on the condition that the delinquent accounts are brought into compliance in accordance with the specified payment schedule.

“The main thing I’m interested in and the main thing the city is interested in is compliance,” Brogdon said.

Dacula City Marshal Steve Cline will verify the addresses of the ten people who did not respond to the court summons and will again serve notice. Those who fail to appear after the second notice could face bench warrants.
