A record number of soccer players signed college scholarship offers on Friday, Feb. 11 in the Mill Creek High School media center. Mill Creek head coaches Brent Leitsch and Sean Garnett introduced each of the players to a large crowd of family, friends and teammates.
The players offered soccer scholarships included:
- Lindsay Kempf, an All-County selection in 2009 and school record holder in assists, signed with Ball State University.
- Torie Scalera, the leading goal scorer in 2010, signed with Armstrong Atlantic University.
- Tatum O'Keefe, who missed most of 2010 due to injury but was the leading goal scorer in 2009, signed with Georgia College and State University.
- Tessa Lukens, the starting goalkeeper for the past three years, signed with Lenoir Rhyne University.
- Taylor Cornelius, who has 10 shutouts in her career, signed with Georgia College and State University.
- Cari Powell, described by head coach Brent Leitsch as one of Mill Creek’s best defenders, signed with West Georgia University.
- Austin Butler signed with Pfeiffer University.
- Taylor Scalera signed with the University of South Carolina Upstate.
