Sheriff Says He Has Heard 'Very Credible Accusations' Against Other Officials
Less than a week after District 1 commissioner Shirley Lasster resigned and plead guilty to bribery charges, Gwinnett County Sheriff Butch Conway hints more officials could be tainted by the corruption scandal.

Former District 1 commissioner Shirley Lasster may not be the only official tarnished in an ongoing FBI investigation according to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
In an interview with the AJC, Gwinnett County Sheriff Butch Conway said he has heard "very credible accusations" dating as far back as 2004 regarding allegations of payoffs to certain commissioners.
After Lasseter , officials with the United States Attorney's Office said Lasseter and her associates were cooperating with law enforcement.

In a press release issued after Lasster's court appearance, U.S. Attorney Sally Yates said, "These defendants broke the public trust and the law. We will continue to aggressively pursue corrupt public officials and those who conspire with them.”
