Significant Weather Alert Issued for Dacula

Gwinnett and Walton counties are in the path of strong thunderstorms Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Significant Weather Advisory for strong thunderstorms moving through the area.

The advisory is in effect until 3:30 p.m for many area in eastern metro Atlanta, including Gwinnett and Walton counties.

Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph and frequent lightning have been reported.

Locations in the advisory area include Dacula, Buford, Grayson, Loganville and nearby communities.
