1. A Dacula High School senior has earned a prestigious Gates Scholarship. Micah Petit-Bois is one of just 300 students nationwide chosen to receive the coveted scholarship. The award is funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Gates Scholarship is meant to award an outstanding minority high school student from a low-income household. (WSB Atlanta)
2. Lee Allen, Gwinnett County's teacher of the year, has decided to quit his job. Allen has decided to resign from his teaching position at Archer High School out of frustration. He has expressed that he no longer feels like a teacher after students returned to the classroom following online lessons, and said he felt like he was "just managing behaviors."
