'Sucker-Punch' in Bar Leads To Murder Charges For Gwinnett Man: Police

Barrow County authorities say David Allen Digiacomo hit another Gwinnett man in a bar in Braselton.

BRASELTON, GA — What authorities are calling a sucker-punch in a Braselton bar has led to murder charges against a Gwinnett County man.

David Allen Digiacomo, 40, of Flowery Branch, is in jail after a man he punched at Jack's, a bar in Braselton, later died.

Clint Ali, of Hoschton, was 34.

According to police, a friend of Digiacomo's had gotten into some sort of altercation with Ali at the bar on Friday.

The friend told Digiacomo, who walked up to Ali, who was standing at the bar's jukebox, and punched him without saying a word, authorities say.

"Digiacomo walks right up to Mr. Ali and just sucker-punches him,” Braselton Police Chief Lou Solis told WDUN.

According to WDUN, the bar is near a gas station owned by Ali's family.

Digiacomo also is charged with aggravated assault and obstruction of law enforcement, the sheriff's office said.
