Mayor Wilbanks: The Dacula City Council, the city staff and I want to join in the outpouring of concern, sympathy, and empathy with our neighbors from Newton, Conn. While I think it is impossible to understand why tragedy strikes, we want to remember and comfort, as best we can, those families involved in this senseless act of violence.

Mayor Wilbanks: School will be out for fall break in a couple of days. Hold tight to your children, keep them safe, and try to answer their questions about Newton as best you can.

Mayor Wilbanks: My favorite religious Christmas song, is “O, Come All Ye Faithful” and my secular favorite is “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.”
