Vandals Spray-Paint '99 Thesis' at 12 Stone Church

Police responded a report of spray-painted vandalism last week at 12 Stone Church on Braselton Highway.

According to a Gwinnett Police incident report, a church staff member called called police after he found the vandalism on the rear side of the church on Dec. 6.

The phrase “99 Thesis” was spray-painted in several places, the man said.

Perhaps a reference to the Martin Luther’s ”95 Theses” at the start of the Protestatnt Reformation in the 1500’s, the phrase was painted in back and white lettering in 14 difference spots, with “Mart” painted under one of them, the incident report stated.

Empty spray cans were found lying on the ground.

Video surveillance showed the crime occurred between 7:40 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 5 and there are three possible suspects. No arrests were immediately made.

It’s unclear what the vandals’ message intended to mean.
