Verdict Reached in 2012 Stabbing Death of Gwinnett Grandmother
Eric Lamont Bolling was accused of murdering Parviz Moledina, who lived only a few doors away.

A Gwinnett County jury convicted a Lawrenceville man for the 2012 murder of a grandmother who lived just down the street.
The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release that Eric Lamont Bolling was convicted of the Thanksgiving week stabbing death of Parviz Moledina on Alamein Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville. Moledina, a mother and grandmother, lived only a few doors away from Bolling.
Prosecutors said Moledina was stabbed 33 times; her body was found on her bedroom floor.

It was the second time Bolling stood trial for the murder. The jury could not reach a decision in the first trial, which ended in a mistrial, the district attorney’s office said.

Prosecutors said Bolling, who was 19 at the time, robbed and killed Moledina, who “was known to have several thousand dollars of cash, jewelry, and other expensive belongings in her residence,” Chief Assistant District Attorney Dan Mayfield said in the news release.
Bolling claimed it wasn’t him. He admitted to taking items after she found her dead and that “someone else must have killed her before he robbed her,” the release stated.
But prosecutors said there was never a 911 call from Bolling about the woman’s death and his fingerprints were found in the woman’s bathroom and in her car, which Boilling allegedly stole.
Also, prosecutors said DNA from the victim was found on Bolling’s pants leg and sock.
Testimony included prior statements from Bolling’s cousin, Justin Eldridge, who was charged with theft by receiving (Moledina’s car) in connection with the case. Eldridge had previously testified that Bolling admitted to the crimes, according to the news release. Eldridge, who is currently on probation, failed to show up in court to testify in person.
“A photo even surfaced on Facebook of the defendant holding several stacks of cash standing in front of a silver vehicle, that vehicle belonged to Ms. Moledinas,” Mayfield said in the news release.
Bolling was found guilty of murder, felony murder (two counts), first-degree burglary (two counts), possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, and aggravated assault.
Sentencing has been tentatively scheduled for July 16 at 1:30 p.m.
Assistant District Attorneys Jon Setzer and Michael DiOrio prosecuted the case.
