Woodall Issues Statement on Bin Laden Killing
Congressman calls the news "uplifting and sobering."

Rep. Rob Woodall (R-GA) has issued a statement welcoming news that terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden is no longer a threat to the United States.
“The news that is uplifting and sobering at the same time,” Woodall said. “We all remember where we were and what we were doing when the hijacked planes crashed on American soil. We will all now remember where we were and what we were doing when the President of the United States announced that the man with the blood of more than 3,000 Americans on his hands is no longer a threat to America.”
President Barack Obama announced bin Laden’s death on May 1. The al Qaeda leader was killed during a targeted U.S. military operation. Obama said he gained credible intelligence about the terrorist leader's whereabouts last week and ordered the strike on the compound on Sunday. After a firefight, a small team of American forces killed bin Laden and took possession of his body.
