The second incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. at Battle Forrest Drive. Police said Lauren Bullis, 40, was found suffering from both gunshot and stab wounds.
After connecting the two incidents, police said they were able to identify the suspect vehicle as a silver Volkswagen Jetta, which was seen leaving the first scene.
The Jetta was located outside of DeKalb, and a suspect was taken into custody, police said. The person was not identified, and police did not list any charges in either case.
"Our thoughts are with the families of the victims during this difficult time. We want to reassure the community that there is no ongoing threat related to this suspect, and we remain committed to ensuring the safety of our residents," police said in a news release.
