2 Indicted In Trafficking Of Teen In DeKalb

The two had already been indicted in a Fulton County human trafficking case, Attorney General Chris Carr said.

ATLANTA, GA — A man and woman were indicted in connection with the December 2020 trafficking of a 16-year-old girl in DeKalb County, according to Attorney General Chris Carr's office Thursday.

Courdale Thayer and Jahaundria Seabron are being charged on suspicion of four counts of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, Carr said.

The pair was indicted on Nov. 29 in DeKalb.

According to the attorney general, this is the second case being brought against the duo. They are awaiting trial on separate human trafficking charges in Fulton County, Carr said.

Thayer and Seabron were first arrested in late 2021 after a 10-month investigation that resulted in the rescue of a 14-year-old girl who had been missing for about seven weeks from College Park, Carr said.

The state's Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit and Chief Human Trafficking Investigator Bryan Kimbell used an alert issued by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to identify, locate and rescue the girl in February 2021, Carr said.

Thayer and Seabron were indicted in January on suspicion of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and first-degree cruelty to children.

“Our Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit continues to vigorously pursue those who abuse and exploit Georgia’s children for sex,” Carr said in a news release. “Once we open a case, our team of dedicated investigators will review every possible lead to ensure that we identify and assist all victims within our reach. This indictment is yet another example of our long-standing commitment to protecting our most vulnerable as we keep fighting to put a stop to this criminal industry in our state.”
