2 Injured, Family Displaced In Pair Of DeKalb Fires: Reports
Windy conditions contributed to the spread of one of the fires that injured two people in DeKalb County, media reports say.
DECATUR, GA — As heavy winds blew through metro Atlanta, media reports say DeKalb County firefighters battled two blazes Monday morning.
One of the two fires reportedly occurred in the 3300 block of Columbia Crossing in Decatur's Panthersville community. A time for the fire was not immediately known.
Though there were no injures, a family was displaced, fire officials told WANF-TV.

A second fire erupted around 3:30 a.m. at a Pine Hurst Place house in Decatur, injuring two people who were taken to a hospital due to smoke inhalation, WXIA-TV reported.
Windy conditions contributed to the fire's spread, DeKalb Fire Battalion Chief Colby Davis told WANF-TV.

“When we have winds like this, it is an extreme danger to us so we have to meticulously make sure we do the right things in placing handlines and things like that,” Davis told the news outlet.
A wind advisory was in place at the time of the incidents due to temperatures in the 20s and wind chills in the teens in metro Atlanta.
Causes of the two fires were not released. The American Red Cross is reportedly offering assistance.
