1. CuevacĂa Inks Lease To Join Lulah Hills in Decatur (whatnow.com) â Decatur residents can look forward to CuevacĂa, an Oaxacan-inspired restaurant, opening in the new Lulah Hills mixed-use development in North Decatur around 2027. The two-story spot will feature cave-like architecture, a mezcal-focused bar, and dishes like hand-pressed tortillas and house-made moles, joining a tenant lineup that includes Publix, Anthropologie, L.L.Bean, and several other retailers and eateries.

2. Parker's On Ponce in Decatur is on the market for $500K (decaturish.com) â A longtime fixture on Decatur's historic square, steakhouse Parker's On Ponce is up for sale, with its name and lease offered for about $500,000. Co-owner J.T. Scott says he's stepping back after 18 years but hopes a buyer will keep the restaurant thriving, and may stay on to help with the transition.

State lawmaker Omari Crawford joins DeKalb CEO's cabinet (decaturish.com) â From a Decatur-based law firm and state House district that includes parts of the city, attorney and legislator Omari Crawford is stepping into a key role as DeKalb County's chief of strategic initiatives. He'll remain in the Georgia House while helping CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson coordinate major county projects and partnerships that could shape services for Decatur and nearby communities.

4. 25 years after Derwin Brown's assassination, former DeKalb DA revisits case in new book (wsbtv.com) â A former DeKalb district attorney is revisiting the assassination of Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown in a new book that explores corruption, unchecked power, and the role of a free press. He'll share insights from the case and his writing process at the Decatur Book Festival, offering local readers a chance to hear firsthand how the investigation unfolded and what lessons still resonate.
