Anti-Trump Decatur Republican Won't Run For Electoral College

Baoky Vu has resigned as a member of Georgia's electoral college after he said he couldn't vote for Donald Trump.

DECATUR, GA — A Decatur Republican who said on Wednesday that he could not vote for Donald Trump has resigned his position as a Georgia electoral delegate.

Baoky Vu told the AJC that, if Trump wins Georgia this November, he might withhold his ballot. Now, the AJC is reporting that Vu and Georgia GOP Chairman John Padgett have issued a statement that Vu has resigned as an elector.

“My public expressions of misgivings about our party’s nominee has led to events that would be detrimental to the promotion of our party’s platform of limited government, free enterprise, and liberty," the statement said. "Thus, I am tendering my resignation as a presidential elector.”
