DeKalb to consider $17.9M loan for sewer system upgrades (decaturish.com) — DeKalb commissioners will meet Tuesday morning in Decatur to consider a $17.9 million state loan for major upgrades to the Shoal Creek trunk sewer system, which runs through Decatur and Avondale Estates. The nine-year project will replace 13 miles of aging sewer lines, cross under I-20 and I-285, and is part of a federal consent decree, alongside funding proposals for trails, sidewalks, and expanded healthcare services.

4. 11Alive helps with arrest of man allegedly stealing HVAC units in Dekalb County (11alive.com) — In a case originating from Decatur, a man accused of repeatedly stealing HVAC units from a DeKalb County home now faces eight charges, including multiple felony theft counts. Investigators say surveillance video and a license plate reader helped identify him before an August arrest at a gas station. He has since been released from the DeKalb County Jail while his case proceeds.
