Avondale Police Alerts Public to Potential Child Abduction Attempt
The incident happened on Wednesday evening.

Avondale Estates GA -- Local police have alerted the public about a possible child abduction attempt that took place on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Here is the alert issued by the department:
“This morning the AEPD was notified by a parent that early last evening, while walking home, their young son noticed that he was being followed by an individual in an ’old silver car.’ The boy advised that he began to run and when he reached the driveway of his home, the person exited his vehicle and followed him up the driveway.

“The incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Berkeley Road (1100 Block). The description of the suspect as given to the parent of the boy is as follows:
- Black male
- Age: “not old, but not a teenager”
- Height: Possibly in the area of 5’10”
- Wearing a black shirt
“Anyone having information about the incident is requested to contact Sgt. Lynn Thomas at (404) 391-5628.”
