County watershed management crews began restoring pressure to the damaged 48-inch main transmission line at Henderson Mill and Evans roads at 4 a.m. Sunday after they repaired the damage done on Friday when a contractor damaged a fire hydrant connected to the line.

Due to repeated losses and gains in pressure while crews attempted to repair the damage, the county instituted a boil water advisory on Friday. Residents were advised boil any water meant for use in cooking, drinking, or preparing baby formula for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil.

The county’s Twitter page reported Sunday that water samples taken on Friday and Saturday showed no signs of contamination from bacteria or other pollutants. Water samples taken on Sunday also came back contaminant free, which prompted officials to lift the advisory.
