1. City Schools of Decatur polls parents on pre-K priorities (decaturish.com) — City Schools of Decatur is asking local pre‑K families to complete a survey by Sept. 16 that will guide decisions on future preschool locations and transportation. Responses will help shape recommendations on whether to add pre‑K to K‑2 schools, renovate Decatur High's Frasier Center, or pursue a new early childhood center, influencing how young children in Decatur access classrooms in coming years.
   

2. Decatur school board to pick early learning path Tuesday (decaturish.com) — City Schools of Decatur's board is set to choose between continuing a standalone early childhood learning center or shifting early learning into Decatur High School, with both options topping $20 million. Tuesday's meeting at the Elizabeth Wilson School Support Center will also cover academic score updates and long‑range facilities plans that could shape school buildings and programs across Decatur for years.
   

3. Decatur commission to review Decatur Square contracts (decaturish.com) — Decatur's City Commission is meeting tonight to approve extra funding and oversight to finish the long‑running Decatur Square transformation, including green infrastructure and streetscape work on North McDonough Street. Commissioners will also weigh contracts for speed management on West Ponce, landscaping, a new street sweeper, OpenGov software support, and continued restoration work at Legacy Park, all affecting daily life around town.
   

4.
