Brasstown Beef and Pine Street Market Team Up for Beef 101 Class
Brasstown Beef and Pine Street Market Team Up for Beef 101 Class!
On Saturday, April 30, Brasstown Beef and Pine Street Market will team up for a hands-on Beef 101 class to teach students how to break down a forequarter of a Brasstown steer. Special guest Steve Whitmire, farmer and owner of Brasstown Beef, will be present to share expertise, tips and suggestions – straight from the farmer’s mouth – for making the most out of every cut of meat. Brasstown Beef in Brasstown, N.C., is known for its award-winning, humane and pasture-raised beef. During the small, hands-on class, Steve and his son, Whit, Brasstown Beef’s business development specialist, will share generations of beef knowledge, including how cattle should be properly raised and processed into a variety of their favorite cuts of beef, along with how to cook these cuts. Delmonico steaks, bavette steaks, denver steaks, brisket, short ribs, flank steak and ground beef are just a few of the cuts that Steve and Whit will demonstrate and discuss, and each participant will take home a selection of various cuts and freshly ground beef.
The class will be held at Pine Street Market from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, and includes a lunch of roasted meat, local vegetables, cold beer and beverages. The cost is $150 per person and refunds are not available for missed classes.
