Art * Music * Food * Fun! LakeFest is a two-day festival on the shores of beautiful Pine Lake, GA, featuring the best that Pine Lake has to offer by way of artists and crafters, live music, health and wellness vendors, food trucks and family fun. There are chalk art and sand sculpture contests at the Beach with prizes, a Pet Parade (bring your pet and march!), a Kids' Carnival with fall-themed crafts and games, street performers, and don't miss our signature Paddlepalooza! floating parade and races on the Lake with prizes (preregister and float your boat!) 
The art market will feature handmade work by 45 artists from all over Georgia. There will be music-all-day-long with a dozen musicians and bands on the lakeside Festival Stage. We present local favorites and new music in a variety of styles. Pine Lake is located just 12 miles east of Atlanta between Decatur and Stone Mountain. Admission and parking are free. Park on Rockbridge Road near the entrance to the city and take a shuttle to lakefront. Stay and play: the lake is surrounded by a park, a playground, and wetlands with picnic spots and walking trails.

Do you have a boat you're interested in racing on Pine Lake? Last year at Pine LakeFest time we were in the middle of a drought, and it wasn't safe to put boats on the Lake. But this year, Paddlepalooza! is back! The theme (for those inclined to decorate themselves or their boat) is "American Dreamboats," and in addition to awards for sprint and marathon races, there will be a Spirit Award! Readers can stock up on books for their fall reading at the Friends of the Decatur Library Book Sale on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will take place on the ground floor of the library located at 215 Sycamore St. Proceeds support Decatur library programs for children, youth and adults.
Readers can shop fiction and mystery titles as well as a variety of non-fiction categories such as history, biography, sports, health and cooking. There will also be a wide selection of books for children and young adults.

Most hardback books are $2; most paperback books are $1. Credit cards, cash and checks are accepted, and shoppers should bring their own bags.
Because of building security updates, shoppers will enter the library on the main floor and use the elevator to get to the sale on the ground floor.

Returning to Avondale Estates for its second season, this locally created 45-minute Christmas experience combines hand-picked holiday displays with cheerful music, an onboard host, trivia, stories, sing-alongs and plenty of festive fun.
New for 2026, guests can choose from several different ride experiences, including family-friendly Christmas rides, Christmas classics and movie trivia, and select 21+ evening experiences.
Rides operate December 11 and December 18–23, with departures at 5:45, 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 p.m. Additional dates may be added. Standard rides are $36.95 per person. Tickets go on sale November 1.
