Pine LakeFest is a two-day festival on the shores of beautiful Pine Lake, Ga., DeKalb’s smallest city. Now in its 23rd year, the festival will take place on October 11 and 12 and will feature the best that Pine Lake has to offer by way of artists and crafters, live music, health and wellness vendors, food trucks and family fun. There are chalk art and sand sculpture contests at the Beach with prizes, a Pet Parade, a Kids' Carnival with fall-themed crafts, street performers, and don't miss the Paddlepalooza! —LakeFest’s exciting regatta with boat races on the Lake! (Plan to watch, or pre-register to compete in a sprint and a marathon!) Admission and parking are free. Park on Rockbridge Road near the entrance to the city and take a free shuttle to lakefront. The juried art market will feature handmade work by 45 artists from twenty different cities in Georgia, including paintings, pottery, clothing and crochet, dolls, folk art, mosaics, photos, jewelry, fiber art, and wood and metal creations. Special exhibits will include the Pine Lake Community Art Project and The Safe Space Obelisk. In the Health and Wellness section of the marketplace, visitors may consult with a Shaman, have their Astrology chart read, and sample healthy teas and treats.
Musical highlights include a Flash Mob, a Marching Band, and music-all-day-long with a dozen musicians and bands on the lakeside Festival Stage. Featured bands include the Venus Kings and the Mar-Tans at Saturday and Sunday nights’ closing parties. LakeFest presents local favorites and new music in a variety of styles—something for everyone!
