DeKalb Man Indicted For Human Trafficking: Carr

The 32-year-old man was indicted in DeKalb County for trafficking three people, the attorney general said Tuesday.

DECATUR, GA — A human trafficking investigation that began in 2021 has led to the July 12 indictment of a Conyers man, Attorney General Chris Carr said in a news release issued Tuesday.

Carr said Terry Florence, 32, was indicted in a DeKalb County court on seven counts of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude and one count of sexual exploitation of children.

Authorities began investigating Florence in August 2020 during Operation Not Forgotten, a two-week long investigation that resulted in 26 children being rescued and nine people being arrested, Carr said. During the probe, Florence was accused of trafficking two people.

Carr said he was initially indicted in June 2021 on three counts of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude; however, a third victim was later identified, and Florence was indicted on additional charges.

“This indictment is yet another example of our longstanding commitment to protecting our most vulnerable Georgians,” Carr said in a news release. “Once we open a case, our Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit works diligently to identify and assist every victim within our reach. We will not rest in our efforts to ensure that those responsible for the trafficking of a child are held fully accountable for their actions.”
