The body of a Decatur man who jumped into the water to retrieve his boat Sunday night at a Lake Lanier park was recovered Monday morning, authorities said.
Divers from the Hall County Sheriff’s Officer recovered the body of Earl Cosby, 60, around 11:45 a.m. Monday near the boat ramp at Clarks Bridge Park, the AJC reported.
The sheriff’s office said Cosby apparently jumped into the water from a dock around 10 p.m. Sunday as his boat was drifting away. He couldn’t reach the boat and was unable to swim back to the dock.
