According to WSB-TV, Khalima Dixon and her six children escaped the burning condo off of Shellbark Drive, but lost everything they owned. Dixon had been in school working on a business management degree full-time, but being without a job has now made her a less-than-desirable tenant for landlords.
Although the American Red Cross has helped put the Dixon family up in temporary housing, Dixon says that homeless shelters will not accept the family as a whole due to the varying ages of the children.

Dixon has set up a GoFundMe page to solicit donations, and is also asking for direct donations of clothing for her children. E-mail Dixon to learn more about what items she needs for her family.
