Decatur Man Bites Police Officer In Virginia, Arrested
A Decatur man is being charged with assault and battery on a police officer and being drunk in public.
DECATUR, GA — Virginia police arrested a Decatur man Friday for biting an officer.
Arlington County Police arrested Joseph Porchea, 33, of Decatur, according to the weekly crime report. He’s charged with assault and battery on a police officer and being drunk in public.
Officers responded around 12:15 a.m., for the report of a man acting disorderly at a local business. They learned that after the suspect had entered the business, he began acting erratically. The man attempted to take merchandise and tried to enter the back area of the business, according to police.

The officers determined the suspect had been involved in two previous calls for service in the area that evening. As they tried to take him into custody, the suspect resisted and bit one of the officers. The officer was not injured.
