A Decatur man’s life was turned upside down when he was arrested for driving on a suspended license, a license that shouldn’t have been suspended at all.

Donte Carter got a speeding ticket in November of 2014, but promptly paid the fine. The next month, DeKalb County Recorders Court implemented a new digital system, which had issues uploading old citations. The merger didn’t bring in Carter’s resolved citation, so it appeared as though he hadn’t paid the fine. As a result, his license was suspended.
On June 19 of this year, Carter was arrested and taken to jail for driving on a suspended license. Carter lost his job and his car after he was arrested, WSB-TV reports.

According to WSB-TV, Carter will be back in court Tuesday in an effort to clear his name.
