East Point Police Drain Pond In Search For Missing Toddler
DeKalb County Police said J'asiah Mitchell, 2, was not kidnapped in DeKalb though the toddler's location remained unknown Friday.
EAST POINT, GA β In a search for 2-year-old J'asiah Mitchell, East Point authorities drained a pond at a Flat Shoals Road apartment complex Friday, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Mitchell was last seen at the apartment complex wearing Buzz Lightyear pajamas, the outlet reported.
His father, 23-year-old Artavious North, was accused of falsely reporting Mitchell's kidnapping Wednesday night. DeKalb County Police said North was arrested Thursday evening and charged on suspicion of false report of a crime and false statements.

After Mitchell was reported as kidnapped, DeKalb Police conducted a search for the toddler. However, police said there was no armed robbery nor kidnapping in DeKalb. Mitchell's whereabouts are still unknown.
The East Point Police Department is now the lead investigating agency.
