DECATUR, GA — An Atlanta man accused of fatally punching and kicking a dog, and then concealing its remains, was indicted Tuesday, according to DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston's office Wednesday.
Boston's office said a DeKalb County grand jury indicted Mekhi Jackson, 21, on three charges of felony aggravated cruelty to animals and one count of tampering with evidence.
Jackson was accused of repeatedly punching, throwing and kicking a dog in an apartment complex breezeway on March 12 at Flat Shoals Road. Boston's office said the dog died as a result of its injuries, and said Jackson concealed its remains.
