DeKalb's School Schedule Adjusted Due To Ice Storm
DeKalb County Schools have announced their operational plans for Monday, which will follow a menacing ice storm in Georgia.
DECATUR, GA — DeKalb County Schools are closing all campuses Monday due to a potentially hazardous ice storm that will could slam Georgia this weekend, the disrict said Friday.
The National Weather Service on Friday extended an ice storm warning to include metro Atlanta after Gov. Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency for the dangerous winter storm. The system is expected to bring up to an inch of ice to northern Georgia into the metro.
The warning will take effect at 1 p.m. Saturday and will expire at 10 a.m. Monday.

The closures in DeKalb include county schools, centers and offices, officials said. If possible, they added 12-month staffers should work remotely.

All school activities and athletic events will be rescheduled, school officials said.
A decision about school operations for Tuesday will be made by 5 p.m. Monday, officials said.
