FBI: Armed Robbery Team Hit 18 Spots Since February

DECATUR, GA — The FBI and other law enforcement agencies are asking for the public's help to catch an armed-robbery team responsible for as many as 18 business robberies — many of them in DeKalb County — in a little over a month.

The two men have robbed three banks and businesses including several Waffle House locations, gas stations and dollar-store type retailers. They showed a handgun during all of the robberies except the ones at banks, when a demand note was used, according to the FBI.

Ten of those robberies took place in DeKalb County and five of them in Decatur and Avondale Estates, the FBI reports.

The robberies, in DeKalb, Rockdale, Gwinnett and Newton counties, happened between Feb. 14 and March 29.

They are:

• March 1, Waffle House, 4300 Covington Hwy., Decatur
• March 1, Waffle House, 1194 Columbia Dr., Decatur
• March 2, Family Dollar, 1800 Panola Rd., Lithonia
• March 5, Exxon Service Station, 9123 U.S. Highway 278, Covington
• March 6, Waffle House, 2260 Sigman Rd., Conyers
• March 10, Exxon Service Station, 9123 US Highway 278, Covington
• March 12, Waffle House, 2020 Flat Shoals Rd., Conyers
• March 14, Exxon, 77 Perimeter Center East, Dunwoody
• March 14, Regions Bank, 3880 LaVista Rd., Tucker
• March 16, Shell, 5260 Stone Mountain Highway, Stone Mountain
• March 16, Waffle House, 2850 East College, Ave. Avondale Estates
• March 19, Shell Gas Station, 1057 West Ave., Conyers
• March 27, Dollar General, 3900 Glenwood Rd., Decatur
• March 29, Sun Trust Bank, 2171 Pleasant Hill Rd., Duluth
