Georgia Man Arrested After Allegedly Bringing Gun, Ammo into Theater

William Gossett of Covington, Georgia, was arrested after being stopped by police in a Pennsylvania movie theater.

A Georgia man was arrested Saturday after allegedly bringing a handgun and a box of ammunition into a Pennsylvania movie theater.

William Gossett, 21, was arrested in Center Township, Pennsylvania, after police noticed him walking around the Cinemark Theater with a large bag and wearing long-sleeved army fatigues on a 94-degree afternoon, according to the Beaver County Times.

Officers followed Gossett into a restroom and got his permission to search his bag, where they found the gun and ammo. The gun turned out to be stolen, police said.

Gossett told police he was going to the recently released movie "The Purge."

Once in custody, Gossett allegedly gave police a fake name and date of birth.

Gossett is from Covington, Georgia, in Newton County, east of downtown Atlanta. Center Township is located near Pittsburgh. Police said Gossett has been convicted on two felonies in Georgia and is not licensed to carry a gun.
