Goats Helping Clean Up Agnes Scott College
The crew is currently clearing ivy, kudzu and other invasive plants that are crowding trees on the school's Decatur campus.

DECATUR, GA — The Agnes Scott College campus will be getting some help from a hungry clean-up crew this week.
Somewhere between 50-100 goats have been brought to the school's Decatur campus and will be there all the way through next weekend, helping clear ivy, kudzu and other invasive overgrowth. The cleanup is a partnership between Agnes Scott Sustainability and Trees Atlanta.
In a news release, the college said students, faculty, staff and volunteers have been working for the past year to clear some of the plants crowding around trees on the campus.

"These goats are a chemical-free method for removing these plants, and an example of Agnes Scott’s sustainability efforts on campus," the release said. "The project also highlights the important work Trees Atlanta does related to urban forest restoration."
A "Goat Meet and Greet" is scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon and another on Thursday, Feb. 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on East Davis Street. To find the goats, take South McDonough Street to East Davis Street and turn left.
