According to 11 Alive News, Adra Wilson’s pit bull kept the suspect at bay after he made his way into the Wilson’s home on Glynn Drive. He had just fled from a home on Shadowridge Drive, where he allegedly killed the woman inside.

Wilson hid upstairs, while the pit bull kept the suspect at bay downstairs. Eventually, the suspect made his way to the basement and barricaded himself, 11 Alive said.

Police believe the suspect was also responsible for a stabbing in Henry County earlier Monday, which led to a joint surveillance operation from DeKalb and Henry police. When the suspect broke into the Wilson’s home and barricaded himself in the basement, DeKalb SWAT was dispatched to the scene.

Despite being holed up in a basement near a very angry pit bull, the suspect managed to last four hours before SWAT shot tear gas into the home. The suspect fled from the home (and the pit bull) and into the waiting arms of law enforcement.
