Man Arrested After SWAT Standoff in DeKalb

DeKalb County police assisted Henry County officials arrest a man wanted for a stabbing who had barricaded himself inside a home in DeKalb.

According to CBS Atlanta, the combined police forces were watching a home on Shadowridge Drive when the suspect fled the scene in a car. Police chased him to a home on Glynn Drive, where the suspect barricaded himself inside. After the suspect left the home on Shadowridge Drive, police found a body inside.
A resident at the Glynn Drive home was able to escape, but the suspect secured himself inside and refused to leave, CBS Atlanta said. Eventually, SWAT units had to fire tear gas into the home. The suspect surrendered after the tear gas was fired.

Police are attempting to determine if the body found at the home on Shadowridge Drive is connected to the stabbing suspect.
