Lambda Epsilon Omega Promotes Heart Health in February

Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter hosts "Pink Goes Red Zumba Fitness Party"

Each February Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. promotes healthy heart awareness with its Pink Goes Red campaign. This year Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter will host the “Pink Goes Red Zumba Fitness Party”. This is a free event open to the community and will take place at the Lou Walker Senior Center (2538 Panola Road, Lithonia, GA 30058) on Friday, February 5th from 6pm to 8pm. Members of the community are encourage to come out and enjoy a free Zumba class, CPR Training, and receive nutritional information during the Pink Goes Red activity.

The event will help bring awareness to heart disease, promote physical well being, encourage positive health changes, and provide awareness and information on heart disease, heart attack and stroke. “This event is important to our community because Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter is concerned about the well being of our community. We want to encourage the community on diseases such as heart disease that impacts the community. We want to ensure that each person walks away with the knowledge and resources to maintain a healthy lifestyle” said Vice President Racquel Jackson.

This is a collaborative event with the following organizations: American Heart Association, Zumba with Tanieka Wyatt and Empowered by Pink Foundation, Inc.

Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter is the second oldest graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in Metro Atlanta. Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter has served the community of DeKalb County since its chartering on June 26, 1976 and has grown from its original twenty-two charter member to a current working membership of over three hundred, successfully rendering “supreme service” to the DeKalb County community.
