Man Who Allegedly Killed Squatter Charged With Murder

The man charged with murder was asked to enter the abandoned home by a relative who owned the home.

The DeKalb County man who allegedly shot and killed a squatter inside a relatives home on Monday has been charged with murder, according to police.

Terrance Medina, 39, entered the home at 1783 S. Ponce de Leon Ave. at approximately 8 a.m. after neighbors tipped off the homeowner to the possibility that a squatter was inside the home. Medina is a relative of the homeowner; the homeowner was out of the country, according to FOX 5 News.

Upon entering the home, Medina encountered another man living inside the home and allegedly fired on him. The alleged squatter, a white man in his mid to late 30s, was fatally wounded. His identity has not been released as of Wednesday afternoon.

DeKalb County jail records indicate that Medina is being held without bond.
