According to 11 Alive News, Victor Long dropped the money inside the Chick-fil-A at 105 E Trinity Place during breakfast on April 1. He didn’t realize he was missing the money until he tried to complete a deposit into his business bank account later that day. The attorney told 11 Alive News that he prayed that whoever had picked up the money needed it more than he did.
Fortunately for Long, the person who picked up the money was determined to return it to its rightful owner.

Chick-fil-A employee Jacob King picked up the wad of cash almost 15 minutes later, and gave it to the store manager as soon as he realized how much money had been dropped on the floor. John Crays, the owner of the Chick-fil-A, pulled out all the stops in an effort to locate the mystery customer. He showed security camera pictures of the man to his regulars, hoping that someone could ID him. When that failed, he went to the media.
11 Alive News broadcast a story about the lost and found money on Thursday, which was when Victor Long’s phone blew up with calls from friends and family. Long had been watching the segment too, and he called the restaurant on Friday morning to get his money back. The exchange was complete later that day.
