Midway Heights/Scottdale Shut Out

The District 3 champions couldn't get any hitting going Sunday at the Georgia Little League championships.

The Midway Heights/Scottdale Little League all-stars gave up four runs in the first inning to Warner Robins and could never recover, losing 11-0 when the game was stopped by the 10-run rule after four innings.

The tournament took place over the weekend in Cartersville.

Midway Heights/Scottdale starting pitcher Dontravious Huff gave up a three-run bomb in the first inning and allowed the fourth run on an RBI single but held his own for three more innings.

The woes on the Midway Heights/Scottdale side of the diamond were with its bats. The District 3 champions were held to just one hit all afternoon and could never muster a rally, even though Huff kept his team as close as possible.

Artez Benton came in to relieve Huff, and Warner Robins tagged him with a three-run home run just as it did Huff. A sacrifice fly gave Warner Robbins an 11-0 lead.
